Society Is Dead: We Have Retreated into the iWorld

"It's Narcissus heaven: we've finally put the 'I' in Me." the article that i decide to pick is " Society is Dead: We have Retreated into the iWorld" The article he was about how the world had become part of the iWorld. The iWorld is how are people are so involved in their own world that they are missing the beauty of the real world. Andrew says that most people have their iPods, iPads, and iMacks that we don't pay attention to life around them. Andrew is saying that because we live in the iWorld we have lost a lot of the wonderful things in this world. We missed those random conversations that people have when are we walking around, the birds signing and the nature around us. Now people walk around listening to music, or their faces are stuck in a screen ether in their iPads or iMacks.

He also talks about how iTunes has change the wonderful point of music. In the past music was "something that brought people together, gave them the comfort of knowing that others too understood the pleasure of a Brahms symphony or that Beatles album." No music you can get any time. People don't have to wait for a long time to get songs that they liked now they get it in seconds and we have lost the wonders of learning about the artist and the reason why they wrote the song. Andrew explain his argument really well; his argument in this article is that people need to leave the iWorld that we live in and discovered the beauty of the real world.

  1. Andrea, rather than summarize the author's article, I want you to pick it apart and talk about what works and what doesn't work...
